Upcoming Events & News

“Broadway Almost Met Hollywood”  - Sheila was under the weather with a nasty head cold and allergies and missed Saturday's show. So we brought in trumpeter Chris TenEyck. Someone in the audience suggested he sounded like Chet Baker.

Hmmm, maybe so! We will definitely be working with him again. Welcome to the family Chris!

Unfortunately, Chris is not in this photo as he took the picture!

We appeared at the Dedham Center Farmer's Markets on Saturday, May 16, from 10AM - 1. The Farmer's Markets are at 670 High St., Dedham, next door to the courthouse. There is no cover charge, though we hope you are inspired to support some of the local growers and merchants.

The Sympatico Jazz Collective: “Purely Instrumental! ” . . .

. . . has nothing currently scheduled, but we're working on it. Although, technically speaking, our performance this past Saturday (mentioned above) became a “Purely Instrumental” offering.

We chose the name Collective specifically to broadcast the idea that we are a highly flexible ensemble with multiple way to present our music, and many creative collaborators with whom we can work.

On Friday, May 8, the original Sympatico trio with guitarist Steve Thomas performed in Easthampton. We were also massively fortunate in having the services of master drummer Claire Arenius.

Among a long list of stellar credentials, Claire was the drummer for guitar luminary Barney Kessel.

On a side “note” -  Bob Ponte continues his efforts as a keyboardist, composer and arranger with the Fusion quintet Polarized Guru  https://www.polarizedguru.com/  , who performed at The Lily Pad in Cambridge, Sunday, March 9 from 2 - 4PM. Our audience was very appreciative. My wife (Sheila) tells me it was our best performance, ever! Who am I to argue?

Bob is still allso working to complete and release a legacy album. The song “Silent Steps” was written and recorded for that album. Various other videos of Bob's work, with Sympatico, with other artists and solo, can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBbAJ51wee_FTkaHiD77OLA
